How do I run GTA San Andreas in windowed mode?

On my 1920x1080 TV, GTA San Andreas will only go up to 1280x1024 resolution. Is there any way of playing it in a 1280x1024 window rather than full screen?

Hmm, I don't believe I have heard of SA running in a window before. My copy of SA goes right up to 1680x1050 here though.

I think the reason it doesn't let me choose 1920x1080 is because it's a 16:9 ratio.

They have a solution to fix the FOV on 16:10 displays, nothing that helps me though

There's a little program you can get, I think it's called 'windower' or something similar - It basically let's you play anything in a window.

From looking at the forums and the program itself, it appears to be for FFXI only.

However I've found another program called "d3dwindower" by searching for the word 'windower', so thanks

Nice program, although I might not have been able to use it properly without the instructions posted in that thread.

With this program I might be able to play Crysis at a lower resolution so it runs better on my 7900GT. GREAT SUCCESS!

I thought running in a window usually hit performance, certainly that used to be true of the proper MS windowed mode for games that supported it - this programme get around that?

I used to run mine in a window too, I used a seperate exe I downloaded but I can't remember the name of it for the life of me.

You've Just reminded me I ain't Played this in ages but then last time it became a bit of a habit and I got the time I take completeing the game down to 3 days

man this programme is a god send, thank you very much, like you say this could be an ideal way to play Crysis smoothly without scaling.
