How do i run two psu's?

Yep, that shorting the other PSU trick is really the only method. Would start to get very dodgy if splitting 5V and 3.3V rails. Powering on the 12V isn't too risky though.
 
yeh thats the cable i got... although i thought that came with my PSU rather than my case... but to be honest i have so many old cables lieing around i dont have a clue where they are from :)

im just gonna power down now and try it :p
 
lol... i would... but i really cant be bothered :P

a64 4000+ is at 27 celcius.

its good enough for me... cant beat a good cable mess !! ;)
