How do I save a video which I downloaded?

I'm an idiot. I wanted to download a video file to my HD, but chose "open with (VLC)" instead of "save to hard drive". I can't download it again, because it's from MegaUpload and my limit will be exceeded.

Presumably it's somewhere on my computer already, so how do I find it?

what did you download it with? It should be in temp (type temp in run and hit enter).

I used firefox.

Temp is just full of files which are 1kb each.

The file will be in the FireFox downloads list, you can find its location under properties.

The downloads list only gives me the option of 'open' or 'remove'.
