how do i set a program to use a specific connection?

hey guys and girls

i've got 2 ethernet ports on my pc one is connected to my Virgin BB and one is connected to Sky

no matter what way round i connect them my internet always defaults to the sky connection. is there anyway to set a specific program to use a certain network device(ie ethernet connection ?

i want to use my Virgin for torrents etc and have my sky for browsing is this possible?

Not sure its possible to select a program to use a specific network adapter, and also the normal way of doing it by adding specific routes wont really work with torrents as you dont know the destination IP....

Now if you used newsgroups instead it would be much easier

You can bind a lot of programs to use a specific interface/IP. Certainly can in uTorrent under advanced and net.bind.ip I think.

easiest way I can think of is to run a virtual machine, you can bind the virtual machine to a particular NIC and run all your P2P apps on that.

alternatively, you could run a proxy server (AnalogX has a nice lightweight free one) on the virtual machine, and then set your web browser to use the proxy.

which way you go comes down to which connection you want to use for gaming.

2 ethernets plugged in seems to produce random BSOD
