How do i set crysis to Dx9

i dont think im doin this right, it didnt install to the start menu so i went in the directory (C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Bin32\crysis )
tried right clicking and went to click play dx9 but theres no option. also tried adding -dx9to the shortcut..nothing works :(
