hi again & sorry to be a pain, but i am sort of new to pc WC systems however i am just setting up my adj pump speed so what is the best way to set it up right ?.

do i just use my ear so there is no bubbling or gurgling but is that the right way to set pump speeds up ?.

also the pot on my pump spins unless i press a bit harder on it ( it is only 2 weeks old ), so can i set it up by ear & feel alone ? as i think i have it on 3 & there is no bubbling or gurgling.

cheers

temps will tell you everything

gurgling will be air in your system - you can get rid of this by tilting your machine around to clear the bubbles - set the pump to the highest speed that is comfortable on noise (as in the low humming noise, not gurgling)

if your temps are good then don't worry about it - if temps are not good then increase pump and/or fan speed to compensate

there's no hard and fast rule - it's a balance between temps and noise

no such thing as a silly question if you don't know the answer

no, the bubbles in the system will tend to work their way round to the res and settle there (where there should be a small air pocket anyway)... as long as your pump isn't sucking in any air then it shouldn't end up going back round the system

oh right got you cheers i have tilted my pc a few tim now but there is still some gurgling about, do i need to tilt it a lot each way ?

yeah, the rads have chambers which will be a bugger for trapping air - it at all possible you want to detach the rad from the case and move it about so that the inlet/outlet are the highest point, then the lowest, then the highest (if that makes sense) - so that any bubbles trapped in the inlet find their way to the bottom of the rad and then back up to the outlet to flow out

if you whack the pump up to full this will help push the bubbles through regardless of where they are!

rads fitted horizontally are much easier to bleed than rads fitted vertically because then you can just rock the case to make the inlet/outlet the highest / lowest point

I discovered this to my detriment the first time I filled my loop and had to drain my whole loop to swap inlet and outlet to make it easier to bleed my rad!

i have tilted & rocked the pc side to side & i have also tilted the pc from front to back etc, & the bubbling or gurgling as cut down some however i can only hear a bit now & then so i am going to leave it as i am happy with the temps =

room 24.7c feels warm too & in prime 95 the cpu was 59c,59c,59c,55c after 45 mins of running prime 95.

the cpu idles at 33c-35c ( i had a program running so these dropped a bit to this now when i stopped the program ) in my room at the moment but like i say it is warm & i have the windows open a bit but there is not much wind if any coming in to my room, & the motherboard is 31c.

so i will see how it goes over the next few days as it sounds quiet to me & just a few bubbling or gurgling now & then what i can life with as it is quieter then my old WC set up i had.

many thanks
