How do I show FPS during gameplay?

Or, more specifically, how do I show FPS during playing BF2142?

I've seen others do it, I haven't got a clue, nothing in the menus etc...

It must be a standalone piece of software, any advice?

For BF2 you need to go into the command prompt and type "renderer.drawfps 1".
I don't know if this is the same with BF2142, but worth a try.

FRAPS can also display your fps, aswell as record footage from your game

If you have an ATI card then ATI Tray tools has an option to display the frame rate.

If you have an NV card then NVTray will do it also (via the OSD). Along with gpu temps etc.

use a free download called fraps

its a little tray app which sits in your system tray and provides a much clearer and bigger indication of fps

the build in FPS counter in BF2 is tiny and in plain text, fraps is a much bigger yellow affair, much easier to read
