How do I sue talktalk?

Honestly, this is driving me to the edge man (*twitches slightly) ;)

Long story short, TalkTalk (TT) wanted me to get FTTP, sent several emails, 'good news! it's available', 'good news, get it for free!' etc

All emails were ignored.

"Good news! An engineer is booked to install your Future Fibre! Please be in from 8am-1pm on this date...."

Despite being a customer for 10 years I thought screw that I'm going somewhere else.

That's where the nightmare begins.

A month-long story short, they can't cancel the FTTP service, then they cancel the whole line, then plusnet can't take over because there's a cease order on the line. I have to be without internet for 10 days to a 3 weeks, maybe get a new line.

Nobody at TT knows what's going on, nobody has any info. I'm talking to them several times a day, all different departments, they're all inept.

I could still be cut off today, the woman I'm talking to now is saying my current broadband package is cancelled and I AM being disconnected today, despite calling them everyday this week to state I didn't want this. I even have a recording of them stating the services would not end.

It's absolute insanity. TT are not signed up to the ombudsman.

So it looks like I'm going to be without internet for two weeks, unable to work.

I have a standard router from talktalk 2017 model, can I use that to connect to my phone as a WAP or a neighbour's internet?

had very similar experiences with them. arranged a home move, gave the dates. arranged it so i had internet in the new place before it went off at the old place (WFH) was told that would not be a problem.........how wrong was i.

TalkTalk are an utterly useless and completely inept company who employ the services of call center staff who are blatant liars and totally ******* fekless.

just let it go, you'll only give yourself a load of stress for, ultimately, very little.
Inept is the word I would use, none of the departments are connected, nobody knows what they're doing and they all sound like they're 16, just pulled off the streets of brixton.

I'm disabled, quite heavily and this is a big loss. I have so much other stuff going on, this is too much.

All for a service I never requested or agreed to.

Turns out as soon as that FTTP order was placed that was the end of my land line, no one ever told me that. It was inevitable my service and line were ending today, despite being told 30 times that it would continue.

Thanks, yes I've tried USB tethering now. That's probably the angle.

Just need to get another USB 3>2 lead so I can keep the microphone plugged in

I had an issue of fraud, lies and deception from their engineers company years ago and kept all the info and mailed Dido Harding using the below website, on Friday, got a call Monday morning and by midday was leaving them with compensation and a letter of apology.

Use wisely as you only get a couple of dibs before it boots you from the site, or at least it used to be that way.
Thanks, I tried FWIW

Well it's all a big sh**show and nobody knows what's going on.

I phoned Plusnet on the 19th and was told my line was gone, there's nothing to transfer to.

I then phoned TT and they said as soon as the FTTP was initiated it was inevitable that my copper line was terminated as they then use VOIP.

Thing is I'm all LAN, I don't want wireless. The router is upstairs connected to my office comp and laptop and that's how I want it. If I went FTTP I'd need the router downstairs by the socket and wireless to everything which again, I don't want. I'm happy as I am.

If you call my number it says it's 'not receiving calls' but I still have internet for now. I'm not sure what's going to happen moving forward.

I don't see how they can install a service the customer hasn't asked for and didn't agree to.

If I want a copper line reinstated I need to have an engineer in my home, another thing I was trying to avoid as I'm quite physically disabled. I just want a quiet life and all this has been a nightmare, so many hours and so much stress, none of it my making.

I have to say, i had a very similar problem with TalkTalk too, i would recommend never using them.

Went to switch from BT to Talktalk, this was also a switch to "Full fibre", the direct debit and account was setup, the switch date was set. Engineer visit organised to install it.

Day comes, no engineer. I call them, got passed through 6 different departments, eventually they say "it got stuck in the system". I couldn't even reschedule or make a new order, they said they had to wait over a week to raise a ticket with IT, then once that's fixed they can start up a new order. would have left me without internet for over a month. That call emptied my payg mobile of credit because unlike BT they don't use a free number for customer service.

Told them to stuff it and cancel everything, i went straight back to BT, had to wait 3 weeks because of the engineer visit for the full fibre. Over a month and a half later i get text messages and items in the mail from TalkTalk regarding my new order, they even tried to switch me from BT to them.

I contacted Talktalk, 3 times to cancel this order and every time they said it was cancelled it wasn't and i would get further correspondence. I still have an unopened package which is presumably their modem in my house because its not my job to waste my time returning their stupid equipment.

Reported them to OFCOM for slamming in the end.
One of the many convo's I had with them went something like...
"...and now I've got an email from Yodel saying you're sending me something?"
"yeah so you just need to return the router in the pre-paid bag..."
"You don't seem to understand, I'm not engaging in this process. I'm out. Anything you send to my property will not enter it, it'll remain wherever it is left. I'm not a part of this, I didn't request it and I don't want it."

People have said it's probably unusual to reject a free upgrade 'but it's free'

Ok TT, well I'm going to send you a puppy, it's free, enjoy!

"..but we don't want a puppy..."

Don't care, sending it.

Edit: If were able bodied, that's something I might do, turn up at their head office, get them to sign for a delivery and open a box with a puppy in it and walk out. Something like that would probably make some kind of ripples.
