Well theres no obvious references to it being HDTV on the TV itself. Its a Hyundai 41" Plasma

The manual does say however:

Rear panel
Connectors:

RS-232C for PDP to PC

DVI / Audio DIgital Video and audio connector

RGB Input

Component Input 1,2 (Y/Cb/cR)

Scart x 2

Video Input/Output

S_Video Input

Aerial

------------------------------------------------------------------------

PC Input mode to 1280*1024

SDTV Resolution upto 720*576 50hz

HDTV Resolution upto 1920*1080 30hz or 1080i

I understand some TVs can claim this but not be true HDTV what do you think

that's HD compatible, you'll be able to run the Xbox 360 through component or vga at 720p or 1080i.

However, your lacking a HDMI socket, but you could fix that with a HDMI to DVI adapter.

You dont need a HDMI socket to be HD ready, the specs state that its got to be either a HDMI or DVI but its also got to be HDPC compatible and that may be the problem, even though the specs of the TV look OK the DVI socket may not be HDPC compatible.
What model Plasma screen is it BTW ?

Andy

You might not be able to run Sky HD (If you wanted!!!) as the panel needs to be HDCP (High Definition Copy Protection... I think!!) as well!!!... but as Attu said the DVI might or might not be!! And you'd need HDMI-DVI converter cable plus a seperate Audio connection (as HDMI has Audio with the Video but DVI does not!!).

I was under the impression that the skyHD decoders will be equipped with component video outputs? Is this not going to be the case?

I thought it was all HDMI on SkyHD... I'll have a look... Hopefully it will have Component so I can have my DVD on the HDMI and SkyHD on the Component inputs of my Telley!...

I'll get back!... :)

Nah they are including component (they have said this directly in recent weeks) and coax as well as scart ie they'll be sneakily trying to flog the new box to folks who don't have HDTV or they may be considering using it as a replacement for the sky+ which is good for the consumer ie they don't want HD now but they don't want to be lumbered with a useless sky+ box in a years time.
