How do I tidy my start menu?

Im gathering many programs now...want to sort out hte start menu I have seen it on computers in organisations etc... Just wondering how to do it Manually on my pc... or a good program..

Dont want to pay .... as I thinnk you can do it manually..

I don't think I understand what you mean. Do you mean just right clicking and deleting the entries from the start menu?

If you mean change the programs listings into categories i.e games etc, the folder which control this is located in C:\Documents and settings\Your User\Start Menu.

If you change this, creating new folders etc, then it'll show up on the start menu as such.

Yeah, also you will need to go into C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu

Depends if the program is installed only for you or all users.

drag and drop...then delete what you dont want. is thatt what u mean?

If you right click on the START button you will see EXPLORE.
Open that up and it takes you straight into the START MENU of the ADMINISTRATOR.
Just use Explorer to make folders and drag and drop all your links into them.
I have the folders - IPOD, Satellite, Utils, Music, ArtDtp, Internet and DVD.

You will also find other START MENU's in c:\documents & settings\all users
and c:\documents & settings\default user
