How do i turn off driver signing on vista 64bit?

You can turn it off at every reboot, and I think if you modify the BCD you can make it auto off...

Yep, either manually every boot by pressing F8, or by using command-line options with bcdedit so it's saved every time you boot up. That's why I'm still using XP for the time being since it's so awkard in Vista.

how do you lot overclock then ? I cant open anything to do with overclocking like riva tuner or coretemp with it grrr. And dont you need rivatuner loaded to have your grapghics card working at its overclocked speeds.

I use Ntune or Gainward's EXPERTool.

CoreTemp and Riviatuner work fine on 64Bit Vista, the link above for CoreTemp works fine & all you have to do is install RiviaTuner reboot the computer uninstall RiviaTuner the reinstall believe it or not this gets the driver working.

And I wouldn’t disable driver signing, it’s there for a good reason moan at the developers for being lazy :D:p

Its not a matter of lazy developers. For small time developers, and public domain software, its hard, and expensive to get the appropriate versign certificate to sign the binary's with.

Sure for people like Nvidia, Creative, Logitech etc, its no problem, but the indevidual developers who write applications like CoreTemp... Forget it.

If Signing was 'free' it would be meaningless anyway, as people who wanted to write drivers to bypass DRM, or as Trojans etc would simply self sign and all would 'appear' fine.

Yeah perfectly true, still there are plenty of small freeware apps that are signed.

appears ive got bigger problems let alone worrying about overclocking now anyway. Comand and conquer seems to work but rainbow six wont even start uop and i dont know why. Yet to get others installed.

If you want to additionally use core temp with vista. To get Coretemp 0.95.4 working in Vista X64 without having to disable the driver signing requirement.

file download from here http://forums.erodov.com/local_links...id=11&catid=18

Extract this to your favorite directory (say C:\CoreTemp)

Just make sure before you start the actuall "CoreTemp.exe", you run "coretemp-startup.bat" first

i got it working eearlyer. Wont work anymore, no error messages. Just nothig comes up. Same with rainbow six, think my pc is screwing up :S

But i cant install a program called core temp or cpu-z? i have to run it from the exe each time?
