How do I turn off

I am not sure what the term is for these but, when ever I look at my emails on ipad/iphone, it keeps giving me a preview of each email, which is SLIGHTLY anoying when there are dozens of them to show. I have messed around with notification settings and it still happens. Does anyone know how I get it to stop giving me previews of each email?

Open Settings - Notifications - Mail - <Email Account> and switch Banners and Alerts or just choose the one you want.

To stop the message preview just unselect the Show Preview Option in the same screen.
