After building my new system i installed PC Guard off the blueyonder wireless set up disk.
There was an error after it loaded and it will not start up when pc turned on,just says some error message, have tried the built in uninstaller and also from add/remover programs but nothing happens..

Help me get this crap off my new Beast...

Thanks in advance.

Click Start -> run and type MSCONFIG and press Enter.

Under the startup tab there will be something to do with PC Guard, untick it, click ok and restart and it should get rid of the error message. This doesn't solve the problem but it will get rid of the error message. I have had trouble once before with PC Guard on someone's PC and if I recall it was something very similar.

You can take it out the add/remove programs list using this guide: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314481 and then delete the folder in the Program Files folder.

Download windows install cleaner
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
Run that, and click remove for any of the following Authenthium 4.9X, PestPatrol, Antispyware, Freedom, PCguard. (they won't all be listed)
Then download:
http://kb.blueyonder.freedom.net/index.php?ToDo=view&Frame=1&questId=274&catId=13
And run it, reboot and finally delete the following folders:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Command Software
C:\Program Files\Common Files\PestPatrol
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\blueyonder\PCguard
C:\Documents and Settings\%UserName%\Application Data\blueyonder\PCguard
C:\Program files\blueyonder\PCguard

Don't install it again!!
