some1 plz help :)

as far as i know you need to use some program to capture the video first, save it as uncompressed and then open it with AVIVO in the CCC control panel.

i haven't really read up on AVIVO as i only use DivX but from what i have read thats the way to do it.

i use sony vega's but you can use VLC player or Windows movie maker to capture streams.

edit: just read the readme and you have to switch to basic view and click view then wizard. you can then convert your media with AVIVo ;)

edit 2: just tried what it said and i dont have a wizard for AVIVO, only for monitor settings :( guess that doesn't work then.

What kinda file sizes we talkin about when you convert a 700mb movie for example. And just burning this converted movie to dvd will it play ok in standard dvd players.

me personaly, i dont convert movies really. i convert captured game footage or camcorder stuff and thats usually 2-4gb of clips that i compress to about 400mb with DivX.

i also dont burn any dvd's, i stream everything i want to listen to or watch straight to my old xbox as it can play nearly any format.

if i do need to burn something to dvd then i use WINAVI http://www.winavi.com/ to convert to vob files which i then burn off with nero.

is the 3.5mm jack using Svideo on the cam? doubt it is, more like just a normal AV output.

does your camcorder have a firewire / IEEE 1394? thats how i transfer footage off mine.

I have found the AVIVO transcoding pretty good, albeit very poorly documented etc.

It also converts DVR-MS (for all you fellow MCE monkeys) to other infinitely-more-usable formats and very quickly to boot ::

All that said, haven't a clue how to use the Video input side of things, but - as noted earlier - access to AVIVO converter is through CCC Basic mode and subsequent wizard.

Unfortunately, however, I have recently discovered that AVIVO does not transcode certain HD video sources, namely my new Panasonic's HDC-SD1 camcorders AVCHD footage

just had a thought, does your card even have VIVO? i thought mine did but it doesn't :(

AVIVO is not VIVO, the HIS cards overclockers sell do not have VIVO and i thought they did when i bought it, i wouldn't of if i realised before hand.

i'm not going to sell my card and lose money on it so i'm just going to get another HIS card that does have VIVO and crossfire them. just need to find a good skt 939 crossfire mobo now :(

my CCC never had the wizard, i have the full 7.1 package too so i had to contact ati and they instructed me to install the AVIVO suite and all is good now :D
