Hi, I have some 5.1 surround sound home cinema speakers that I used to use with my DVD player but now I want to use them with my PC.

Here is a photo of the back of the sub -

Now how would I go about connecting these to my PC?

I thought about buying a 5.1 sound card then it would still only be the small 3.5mm single connectors rather than the double hifi style ones which my sub has.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to PC audio stuff.

Any help will be appreiciated.

Cheers, Ed.

heya, you would connect your speakers up to your amp like you would your dvd player.

you would then use a Y splinter (red and white, left and right) from your front audio into your front input amp. and then do the same for the back connection, using a Y splinter again.

You would tehn select 5.1sound on your amp, and there u go... o and make sure windows is configured for 5.1 sound in control panel.

//looking at your screenshot again, u need to get 2 Y splinters, or can u use that wire u have at the moment, but u need to get an adaptor which goes from 2 to 1. the opposite connections of a normal Y splinter. if u get me?

Just sorting out the accidental double posting.

I'm still a bit confused, can anyone link me to one of these 2 to 1 things?

Cheers, Ed.

Ok, I can't seem to locate these cables on m*****s or an auction site, but I'm not sure exactly what to search for, if it is a product that OcUK doesn't sell that it must be ok to post a link?

I'm also a bit concerned about what Steve said about the centre speakers and the subwoofer being different connections on the back of the sound card.

Cheers, Ed.
