I'm only alone over the holidays and thats bad enough!

I suggest you frequent the gym and make social arrangements to stop yourself spending too many evenings on your own.

moved out of my mums in July, bought my own place. bloomin love it.

about the only time I get lonely is when I want to go out on the beer or whatever and everyone else is booked or working whatever. then I just get booze in and read a book or watch a film.

I do have such a mental lifestyle that i am not spending 5 hours after work just sat around at home though.

get some hobbies. join a club. must be loads of things to do (not sure what I would do if I didnt drum though)

As a girl I thought I would hate living on my own when I threw my cheating ex out, and I did for a couple of weeks, but now I love it, I really do.

Id gone from living at home with the parents/siiblings, to living with my ex, and had never lived anywhere on my own before.

Its brilliant when you get used to it though, I love keeping it tidy as much as I love being able to leave a plate or a newspaper lying about and no one whinges at you.

Just keep yourself busy, and if you feel yourself going stir crazy, then get out of the house for a walk or something.

I was on my own a few years back after my wife and I split up. I hated being alone, i combatted it a bit by doing extra shifts at work but i hated it :(

Luckily we got backj together but it was the worst and lonliest 6 months of my life

Learn to love yourself? I live on my own wouldnt have it any different, get up when I want, cook what I want, go out when I want, go on the computer when I want, watch what I want on the TV, read when I want..........you get the picture.

Been on my own now for about 4 years and think its great ! You can do what you want when you want. Never been stuck for something to do though, always jobs arround the house if you are really stuck.
Helps to have a few hobbies and intrests though

Take up a sport and play competitively seems to be the best. New people and a new outlook for a social life. I prefer talking to the dogs although there is a female about the house somewhere.

get some mates who like going pubbung/clubbing and meet some new people! (i found this helps lol) saves being on your own. problem then is, you find yourself with no time what so ever anymore. i find it hard to even get on the ps3 without getting moaned at by the missus ;)
