Probably been asked before and yes I've searched for the answer, but couldn't find anything realting to this specific item!

Anyone know how the sound from an onboard Realtek card using the ALC850 codec on an Asus K8N motherboard would compare to an original Audigy 1 card?

Just putting together a system with some old bits and wondered which would be best to use. System will be used for games like Doom3, Quake4, HL2 and listening to music.

the audigy cant cost a lot right..might be best to just try them both and see for yourself :)
