How do these compare?

and

Intel Core 2 Duo E2140

I've been out of the hardware loop for a while and only know about the original core 2 duo's.

the E2140 is a much better chip, specially if you wish to overclock, but then i would suggest the little more expensive E2160 which are regularly hitting 3.0-3.2ghz, at that speed you are going to kill anything amd even with the reduced cache that these E2 series have over the original core 2 duo.
and forgot to mention that these E2140 are still dual cores.
