How do these CPU's compare?

I have a fairly old E6750 clocked to 3.2Ghz atm but also bought a laptop with core-i5 430m processor. How do the two compare with regards to general use, encoding/decoding, compressing/decompressing files and gaming? I can't find any benchmarks online which are consistent.

Your desktop will have a much faster hard disk than the notebook.

The mobile Core i5 has HT like the other dual core desktop Core i5 processors but has 3MB of L3 cache like the desktop Pentium G6950.

Supposedly the processor is close to the Core2 Duo T9800 which runs at 2.93GHZ and has 6MB of L2 cache:
