As the title says, I'd like to know how white cases and components fare in the long term. Do they discolour as happened with the beige cases of old? How about dirt?

In my experience (I'm on my second white case) they don't show dust and dirt quite as much as black cases. In terms of discoloration it depends on the materials and the quality of the materials. It'll also depend on where you put it - how much sunlight will it face.

Had my white Corsair 5000D airflow for nearly a year now and it looks as white as the day it came out the box. Then again I don't smoke or vape so I've not got that to deal with as that used to be the major discoloration for old cases.

Sunlight and/or smoke staining are still issues, sometimes sweat on peripherals - most modern materials don't tend to discolour the same from age as older stuff.

Direct sunlight would be an issue but my old white NZXT phantom was still white when I got rid of it a couple of years ago.

mad long as it's never in direct sunlight white cases should not have any discolouration

Powder--coated cases with absolutely no plastic is the way to go.

A case can last many upgrades, so spending a bit extra over a longer lifespan allows your $ to stretch a lot further while being able to enjoy the benefits of a higher quality case.

I have got over 12 years out of two of mine, but I went with Antec rack-mount 4RU's with accessibility to 6 5.25, 3x 2.5" & CD/DVD bay in the front.
The case was reviewed on this site, from memory.
Only down side is some of the cpu cooling fans (that have since come out) are too high to fit under the lid.
