How do you add games to the Vista games menu?

I know how to add them as icons and what not, but now I'm wondering how I can add them with the box art?

I had hl2 on there, then I uninstalled Steam. Now that I've reinstalled it it hasn't come back but CSS has.

I know it'll be a missing gdi (think thats it anyway), but I don't know where to find it, or how to manually add them in the first place.

Any help?

You can drag and drop short cuts into there, it doesnt allways pick up the "Album art" but sometime does as it did with HL2 ep1.

Hmm. Thing is I don't have any shortcuts, do it all through steam.

edit: Just tried an old shortcut I had but by repointing it, it shows the hl2 icon but no box art.

While using Beta2 (still waiting for Retail version)...I dragged the shortcut for Freespace2 into the games folder..
Much to my surprise, off it went and grabbed the cover art.....not bad for an old game (still great though!)

I'm just really confused why it doesn't recognise my hl2. I wouldn't care if I could manually assign box art.

You can create a desktop shortcut from the right click menu in steam

Thanks, I'll remember that next time. In the end I made a manual shortcut, wacked that in there, then 10 mins later it had refreshed with the box art. Hurrah.

just tried installing Half Life 2 and it did indeed only create an icon for CSS in the game window. But, Half Life 2 icon did appear after I fired it up.

Can someone post a screenie of the game folder with the covers? I wonder where it gets them from? :confused:

Not sure, but I was surprised that it managed to find some cover art for Total Annihilation.

It doesn't download ESRB ratings, but I guess they will follow, so you can lock certain games from being played if you share your computer with your kids.

It's an MS held database iirc. Something like 1500 titles.
