How do you apply your thermal Paste :O

I do mine in a star kinda shape, a blob in the middle an a much smaller blob at each corner a few mm in from the edge

look at bottom of cpu cooler if theres gaps in between the pipes like on hyper 212 cpu cooler,
then apply thin layer to fill in gaps on the actual cpu cooler
then on the cpu apply pea in middle

Usually do a pea sized blob and let it spread out with the pressure of the cooler being pushed down, but on fitting my Frio I tried coating the CPU in a thin spread out layer... My idle temps aren't as good as I would have liked though so may reseat it later on with the pea sized blob method. Hard to tell if it's just the hot weather heating up my room though.

Put a bit in the middle - no real science to it..., muck up with placing the cooler plate... Rub it all of and try again while convincing myself that its better to have rubbed that first lot into both plates to make it all more effective.

Works every time!

Just reseated my cooler with a BB sized blob (pea sized is too big), and temps are down at idle while writing this by 2 Celcius.

I was idling at 33/34 Celcius before, and now I'm at 31 Celcius, and my house still feels pretty warm too.

I've tried blob, spread etc. and it's all the same, any major difference is likely to be down to changes in ambient temperature.

I just use spread mainly to guarantee a full coverage.

5mil blob in the middle and make sure I fill the gaps on the HS pipes and wipe off the excess.

Lawl, yea i know but people have there own method theories of which is better bladialasljkdaksjdas just though it be interesting to ask anyway i was idle and bored -_-

I use half of old credit card to spread a pea size dollop of AS5, then spread as thinly and evenly as I can using a finger couple of very small freezer bags.

Even with the weather at 25 degrees, I can’t get my CPU higher than 51 degrees at full load.

Another one for the pea size blob (petit pois rather than marrowfat :D) then just putting the cooler on and letting it spread itself. Supposedly this minimises air bubbles.

blob in the middle and let the heatsink do the rest, it all flattens out ok and temps are fine, i dont like putting too much on as it can squish out the side like sandwich filling

Smear some across the edge of a credit card. then just one smooth wipe and done.

But I still get cooler temps using copper grease than i do using arctic silver lol
