How do you break a gaming addiction? CS:S related.

Try a full time job, your either too busy or tired to play anything then :)

Dunno like, theres some people who will take days or weeks off work to play a new game thats came out. I know someone whos done that several times.

The thing about cs:s is that ure brain gets so used to doing it you feel more at ease when playing it. I find it relaxing to play despite how fast paced it is :s.

It's been over 2 years on and I can't put this game down for badness of it! I somethimes find I clock upto 4 hours without realising

Sit down, grab a cuppa and share your experiences :(

Throw your pc out the window...or get a girlfreind that hates computers and get her 2 move in with u :D

problem sorted

Grow up a bit?

Might seem harsh but, its a game. Life is kind of more important..
get responsibilities, a job, a girlfriend.

I was in the same boat 2 years ago. PLayed css about, 40 hours a week? Failed college, got a summer job with college, got a girlfriend, passed college first year, doing second year. Got uni offers yadda yadda.

I grew up tbh :/

Yeah i still play, but maybe a round of 2142 everyother night.

Also my pc sucks ass and keeps killing itself. That helps..

Uninstall the game - simple as that!

I tried WOW last year. I played for the free month you get with the game, but was getting addicted to it after a week and by the end of the month was playing way too much. The solution? Get rid of the game! It was fun, but I dont miss it in the slightest. Real life's much more fun, its just easy to forget that while you're playing a game.

If you dont want to be that strict, another option is to allocate a few hours a week in which you can play, *if you're not doing anything else*. Thats what I do at the moment - there's no harm in bashing away at a game for a couple of hours, as long as it's only occasionally and as long as you dont start missing out on social events to play a game instead.

This is me,

I can play WoW / CS for easily 12 hours straight and i do every so often...

I also have a girlfriend and attend all my classes at Uni...

I can go without playing on my PC for days evens weeks, i think ive got the balance because i dont feel the 'need' to play when im away from my PC.

If you feel like you 'need to play', u just have to find something to take ** mind off it personally.... play a sport, as the poster above mentioned, get a partner... anything to stop u sitting down and playing for hours on end.

and for the record.... 4hours on end isnt that bad imo :)
