Ive just bought some £70 2.0 speakers and they sound amazing :D.. The only problem is i can just about hear people speak, yet the Music,/booms/gun fire etc are deafening. I have done some research and a lot of people are having the same problem with ps3/blu rays.

The solution is either 1: Turn the speakers down each time the sound comes up.
As the remote cant work the speakers i have to get up walk across the room and turn them down by hand

2: turn the ps3 to 2.0/the bluray disc to 2.0
Ive looked and cant see this feature anywhere on most blu rays and the ps3 system settings/sound settings.

3: Get 5.1
I dont have the room or the money for a good 5.1 system.

4: put up with it.

If i did i would go deaf within a week and my neighbours would linch me from the local hanging tree, which we keep for when the local pedophiles' name is printed in the local rag.

Im on the verge of sending them back and sticking with my headphones. It would be such a shame as they are (like i say) Amazing.

Can any one help? Thanks

P.s i have found another work around. Connecting the speakers through the headphone socket on the tv.. but this gives about the same performance as the built in speakers do -_- OH and ignore the typo in the title >< lol

Im connecting them through the TV via the red and white ports on the tv. (this stops me from changing the volume) then the ps3 is connected via HDMI to the TV.

After you asked that i decided to put in the old ps3 connector which had seperate r and white cables on So bypassing the tv. it didnt help though :'(

No idea unfortunately but I feel your pain when I tried to output bluetooth to my stereo headphones... Only chat audio gets sent until they change that in a firmware update :'(

When playing media, press triangle on the controller to bring up the options menu. There is a volume control that you can change the output volume from -5 to + 5. Hopefully that helps.

I don't know if this is going to work with analogue 2.0 output or if it's only for HDMI/optical but give it a go anyway: In the video settings menu there should be an option labelled dynamic range control or similar (I've not got a PS3 to check). Try switching that on and give your blurays another listen
