How do you choose a web designer?

Hi guys,

I'm looking to start an e-business selling goods online. My question is, how does one go about choosing a webdesigner to design the website. This includes everything like creating a logo, all the menus, themes, etc. Except the content will be managed by myself through Joomla.

I have found myself browsing other online retailers I like the look of and scrolling to the bottom of the page to see who made it. Theres a lot of web designers out there!

Searching on Google for someone in your local area would be a good place to start, then you can talk face to face about what you want to achieve with the website.

you get what you pay for really. Good design isn't cheap and there are plenty of shoddy people out there that own a computer and photoshop and call themselves designers. A well designed website will inspire confidence from your customers.
