Using a windows 8 pc with multiple hard drives.

I want everything on the large d drive, we have three devices, an ipad2 and ipad air and an iphone 5
How do I choose where things get backed up, and synced to?
I as usual with apple products can't find the settings to choose.

Also how can my wife pull all the pictures of her phone, save them to the PC and remove them from the phone to free up space?

Do you mean where your library is stored? You can change that but backups are contained in the user Library folder IIRC, and cannot be moved (probably to avoid accidental deletion).

Taking photos of an iOS device is the same as taking them off a camera. In Windows, through Explorer, in OS X, using Image Capture or iPhoto.

Right, thank you.
Why on earth do they not have an option for this.
Do apple machines only ever have a single hard drive?

I'm not sure, as above I wouldn't be surprised if it is to ensure that people don't accidentally delete their backups if they need to reinstall iTunes or whatever.

Try reading this on how to move your whole users section to another hard drive if you want.
If you just want to move specific stuff like the iTunes backup folder then use a symlink as the other poster stated.

Unless I'm mistaken that's for moving OS X user directories...we're talking about one folder on a Windows machine here.

I'd also recommend removing the link because of the Hackintosh content!
