How do you clean your gear?

Quick question folks, How do you clean your equipment mines 4 years old but its awesome gear i won't give up (sidewinder x6) its filthy whats the best cleaning method other than pulling every key and water

I use compressed air, a Hoover and alcohol based cleaner so the excess evaporates away before power on

A (slightly) damp lint free cloth

I use some cleaning putty and a baby wipe. Works a treat!

I did it by picking every key cap off in the end and washing them.

Well done to everyone for not propagating the incorrect myth that dust is mostly made up of dead skin

Is Isopropyl alcohol also good for cleaning monitors? Darn kids got sticky fingers on mine last weekend and all I seem to be doing is smearing it around more... :mad:

I pull each key off, wash them in the bowl with hot soapy water, then dry them in a low oven. Works a treat!

I cleaned my camera lens with it (A bug made love with it) , make sure u use a lint free cloth with it

Worked fine and seems perfect.

You people are bizzare

Its a keyboard, keyboards get grimy its normal to have a grimy keyboard! Ok if theres fungi growing out of the gaps between the keys its a bit too much but a bit of dust is fine.

Pull all the keys off, compressed air and then a cloth doused in pure H2O (again, the advantages of Dad working in pharmaceuticals lol), and clean all keys. I haven't settled on a method for this yet but last time I put them all in a bag with soapy water and shook it a bit, then set them all down on a towel.

My gear tends to get filthy before I clean it though... A layer of grime forms, then dust settles on it, then the dust gets compressed into the grime, and you end up with keys that you can scrape a layer of filth off of...

I use Vodka to clean my mouse with a cotton pad, Sometimes I take the keys off the keyboard but that's a hassle beyond belief, So recently just started wiping it with a cloth, I use a Datavac to blow it out, Got a Corsair K70 so the junk underneath the keys is easily gotten out.
