How do you creat a "slideshow" for images?

I'm wanting to create a "slideshow" effect for my home page with a number of images showing one after the other in a loop.

What's the easiest way to do it? Still a bit of a noob and only basic HTML and CSS

Edit: Or Flash if you want it to look really pretty but be less compatible.

^^ that is a good, flash based one. You have to pay for it, though.

cost was something trivial, I remember, £20 or so .. might be more now. Very Good though.
