How do you find out how much your car has been lowered

I bought a MK IV Astra Sport a few months back, it has got lowered suspension and uprated shocks.

I was wondering if one of my suspension coils broke, what would be the best way of telling how far my car had been lowered by in order to get a correctly sized replacement?

Cheers

Your unlikely to be able to get single replacements for aftermarket spring sets i'd of thought

Ideally you should also replace in pairs.

I would (did) just replace all 4 tbh. A full (decent) set can be had for ~£100.

measure from the centre of the wheel, to the outer lip of the wheel arch. repeat on a standard car.

as has been said though, you replace in pairs as a min, and if you are fitting lowering springs then you want matched shortened dameprs too

Does this mean I'll need to replace my shocks aswell as the springs if one of them goes. Sounds expensive :(

The red paint is flaking off my suspension coils at the mo, so I'm not sure how long they'll last exposed to the elements so to speak....

They will last ages, most coil springs are rusty as hell.
