How do you... (Finding out vehicle data by reg.)

How is it that people check the data of a car using the registration number over the internet?

Also, does this cost?

Punch the reg in there and it give you the basics, for more detail you need to pay. Seems to hold back details on high end cars too, punch in the reg of a ferrari and it doesnt give you all the details, same with Gibbos car too.

Well, to get proper detailed information (HPI check) it will cost you...

However, if you just want basic info then RAC do this for free. (I think thats the right address)

Recognises my mums Fiesta though and says it has had 4 previous owners :eek:

It recognises my bosses Vanquish V12, and his Va8 Range Rover Vogue.

Both have V12 and V8 on the plate respectively :cool:

Same here, and a 5 door hatchback, petrol, doesn't say what it is or nowt though, and manufactured on the 10th June 2005.

Interesting although its not accurate.

For my car it states "Date manufactured 31 December 1997"

Yet my car says this....

Has mine down as 4 previous owners, my V5 says 2. :confused:

Hmm it says my car was manufactured on 31 December 1993... interesting considering it's a K reg.

I had a 1992 J reg, so a '93 K reg sounds right to me. :confused:

Nah, she bought it off a close friend of my auntie so trusted them not to have to do that. It's done 20k miles in nearly 2 years faultlessly anyway so can't be too bad.
