Just a general topic i guess of what your playing style is? I know some people are from consoles and came to pc.. more soon im predicting if next gen consoles are a failure. But do you prefer the keyboard/mouse setup or a gamepad/joystick etc? What is the best way to play what style game?

I cannot seem to enjoy first person shooters or racing games on keyboard and mouse and am using my ps3 controller with Motionjoy until i find a cheap ish xbox controller or alternative to that.

Keyboard and Mouse. Always have, always will!!!

I grew up with a joystick and keyboard for mechwarrior games on DOS.
It's all Keyboard and mouse now.

The only real console I owned was a PS2, besides Final Fantasy, Gandum games, DOA, and Zone of the Enders everything I played was on the PC.

I'm a recent convert from 360 controller to keyboard and mouse for FPS but still use the 360 controller for everything else, I may slowly add other games to keyboard and mouse but some things will always be controller for me, i.e. driving games.

I don't know what the OP is really getting at so this is more a ramble about how I feel about games at the moment.

Theses days I game with frustration. I'll play a game a like BF3 and start moaning at my monitor about the game being dumbed down to a state where to beat an A.I opponent your reduced to pressing a keyboard button when instructed while the game does all the work.

The Xbox 360 controller maybe a console controller but it's the best one the market by country mile, perfect for racing and sports sims.

Despite owning a top of the line gaming rig I seem to find myself my playing a lot of older games - Star Trek Bridge Commander, Star Wars Rebellion/Supremacy, Physconauts, Tie Fighter, Age of Empires 2 etc. I guess I'm just not down with the kids any more and don't enjoy modern games (with Total War being the exception) that enjoyable.

In the future I open minded about where PC gaming goes, personally I think cloud gaming is the way forward especially now I'm on a super speed fibre line which makes cloud gaming very feasible.

I've only really got into pc gaming within the last year or so, I've been playing consoles since I was a kid (from the SNES ;) )so I am fully accustomed to using a controller, depending on the game I use either k/m or controller - main game I play is diablo 3 atm - so its keyboard and mouse, when playing some FPS - battlefield 3 + MW2 (games I got free :) ) I try to use the keyboard and mouse - way I see it I may as well - I can crouch run and move forward - but for the life of me trying to strafe with A/D is beyond me, as is grenading (always have to look at keyboard for this) - mouse to aim I'm liking, still becoming accustomed to it tbh :-/.
As for other games - driving (al-la Dirt 3 ) - its controller, couldnt really adjust, when i bought Arkham City I also used the controller, I just knew I'd be more fluid as Id played asylum on the xbox and theres a lot of buttons/combos I knew I'd not be able to use.

Thats pretty much how I play, playing consoles most my life (no pc in the house untill about 6 years ago tbh) - depending on the game I use either keyboard+mouse or my xbox controller, Ideally I'd like to use the K/M but theres a learning curve.

I own a ps3 also and even though my computer is majorly outdated now and won't be building a new one for afew more months i have a laptop with a good enough graphics card to play all the games i like and everything on my steam library. The ps3 doesn't even get used as i love mods way too much on games :') I don't know if the laptop is why iv been pushed off from kb/mouse even though i still use my G400 on my laptop and disable the touchpad and sometimes use my sidewinder also, Hence me using controller more.

Used to be keyboard and mouse but have converted to xbox controller so I feel much less restricted. I can hook up my pc to the tv screen and play games while lying in bed.:D

If I was playing games like CSS I would use keyboard and mouse but thats about it.

Keyboard/Mouse. Hardly touch my joystick anymore... :o

I'd certainly consider a 360 style pad (which is the only one I've ever been able to use comfortably,) for some titles though. I've just never got around to buying one.
