Right, a freind of mine runs a very basic PC building operation from his back room and also does again basic maintenance on pcs and softwear for people.

He has seen a couple of places that offer good terms 28days payment etc for Uk Businesses.

Is he a business and if not what does he need to become one?

I know its a bit vauge (he really wants the dell 0% finance option)

Thanks.

We have an account with Dell and although you can specify your VAT number (to claim it back later) we've never done this.

We put quite large amounts of money through on our account like this.

I've just opened a business account as a sole trader.. so you don't have to be a limited company to open an account.. You just need some ID and some headed letters. There are a few questions and forms to fill in but it doesn't take long. If you use the bank you do yor personal banking with, then there's no need for any ID. Afterall, it's just an alias.. as long as the account is traceable to an individual with a resiential address, then it doesn't matter what it's called.

yes, just pop into your bank and ask to see a business banker.. It takes about 3 days to process.. You can get some good deals like free banking for a year or two plus free business advice which is worth it. Even if it just prevokes a few ides.

Years ago, I owned a Ltd company, which is a pain in the lower back area area ;p
