How do you get into beta testing?

I want to be a beta tester for Tabula Rasa. But can't find anything on there site about it. So how do you do it?

Some companies randomly choose regular posters on forums so that could be a way to do it.

Others normally have a form to fill out & they will select people from what they have put on the form (basically an application form).

Forums are a fairly common way. By asking in a forum, they know that the people reading it have some kind of interest in the game and aren't just signing up for the sake of it. I was a betatester for a little known racing game called E-racer around 5 years ago or so, which I applied for based on a forum post. In those days they actually sent out cd-rs with the game on rather than offering it as a download.

This is a NCSoft game - they will announce beta testing soon and you will be required to fill in a Beta application form. They choose based on their own criteria which can be anything from random to people with specific hardware.

You have to be lucky to get in early beta testing of games - most people dont get to beta test until its open beta and the NDA has been lifted. Often through a competition or somewhere like Fileplanet.

I expect Tabula Rasa to be a high profile MMO release seeing as its being made by Lord British himself.

yes become a very active member of the forums... they pick the people they feel will contribute first... and like an interview u can only decide on what you can see so if youve already been making an effort to get involved on the forums ** a shoe in
