Just got a N95, I know it an antique but my previous phone was a N73 so this is an upgrade  + the old N95 is still a high spec phone

Well Nokia Maps2 & TomTom worked on my old N73 (well TomTom was sold with the N73) & I even got TomTom work on the N95 using its onboard GPS  but Nokia Maps2 or Ovi Maps3 have trouble accessing a map.
Theres 1gig free space on the memory card & I think its not creating a 'map drive' properly?

Oh, the phone has been updated to the latest firmware & im using the latest Ovi Maps3 from Nokia.

Ovi Maps3 will only run if the mem card is in 'mass storage' mode.
Nokia Map Loader (on pc) hangs with the message 'waiting for phone', even if in 'mass storage mode' or 'PC Suite'.

Anyone savvy with setting up Nokia Maps, thanks...

Ok, the original firmware to this Vodafone handset was v11, yesterday I updated to v21 & I just unbranded it & now its updated to v31 (way to go Vodafone lol).
Good news is now with v31 the accellerometer works so the display auto adjusts portrait or landscape & I'll soon be installing the app which shows your g-force for when driving :D
Although the Nokia Maps is still fubar :(

Just a guess, really, but try deleting the cities folder and qf file from your memory card (and the phone memory if it is there). Also, double check that OM3 is set to use the memory card, rather than the phone memory.

Does OM3 load at all?

format phone, format memcard, and load in the maps from scratch. I'd getan 8gb card for £10, that way you can load in `all the maps in the ENTIRE WORLD! :D

Thanks for the replies, pulling my hair out here (aint got much as it is lol).
God its early, I could have had an extra hour in bed b4 work, darn Im not at work today (what a waste of the clocks going back lol).

Ive tried deleting the cities folder.
When replaced cities folder from N73 (where NM2 worked) when loading OV3 it moans about maps being incompatible & wants to delete & then dies.
Fomatted the mem card, flashed / hard reset it too.
After a flash & clean mem card the pre-installed NM2 wont even run; hangs at 17% loading.
Onboard GPS works well with TomTom installed after.
Whats strange is the secondary camera wont display anything. I thought it was v21 firmware but v31 is the same, so maybe its a fault with the phone? Orange wont give me a 3g sim card anyway lol & no other use for 3g atm with being on payg.
The only way OV3 will run is if the mem card is in 'data storage' mode or not plugged in, but then OV3 advises its going use internal memory (of which theres only 88mb left after v31 firmware).

I'll try deleting them other folders you mentioned now...

thanks

FIXED IT...

Scanned the memory card in Windows & there were filesystem errors, so I formatted in Windows, re-copied the necessary files & after scanning again it was ok & OV3 ran first time :D
