How do you get old Xbox games to work on the 360?

Hi

I've got Jade Empire, which I've read SHOULD work on the 360 because its one of the ones chosen for backward compatibility. But I get the message saying that an update or something may be required to play the game.
Where can I get this update, if I can get it at all....?

EDIT: I have found the software on the website to do it but is there a way to set it up to update all the time?

Are you on Xbox live? I would have thought an update would have been automatically downloaded.

Make sure you're connected to Xbox Live when you put the game in, it should connect and download the update automatically. If you don't have XBL, go to http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/games/backwardscompatibility.htm and download the update and burn it to CD. Pop the CD in and it'll install it automatically.
