How do you get rid of Recovery Console option at boot up?

Following on from my other thread, I've now got my mates Packard Bell Laptop running nice and fast after a good clear out and an uninstall of Norton 2004.

However, when I picked it up from him this afternoon, upon bootup I noticed it gives you the option to boot into either Windows XP or the Recovery Console, not sure why.

Is it safe for me to remove the option at boot up for the Recovery Console ( probably just a boot .ini edit? ) or is this something that would be prudent to leave in place?.

*EDIT* Found that in C:\Windows\pss as boot.ini.backup

Is that the correct file?. I thought I would find that in the root dir of C: but even after enabling "Show hidden files and folders" it doesnt show up, only in that pss folder.

So just edit it, remove the bottom line there:-

C:\CMDCONS\BOOTSECT.DAT="Microsoft Windows Recovery Console" /cmdcons

.....relating to the recovery console and then thats it?.

Read on the MS website in support about it and theres a bit at the bottom which warns against messing with the boot.ini, but I suppose thats in relation to editing something silly out of it, rather than just that bottom line?.
