How do you guys cope?

vista is pish, the pirates have it best. No payment, no activation bs. Anyone got to the point where they going to throw in the towel with micrshaft and use a linux distro? :)

Yes, pirates do have it best. Some you don't even need to waste your time entering a COA code.

I see quite a few threads like this but I have never had a problem with it. I can only suggest that the hardware side of things must be causing an issue (perhaps overclocking, etc.)

I installed all of my hardware, set it to defaults (as I don't need it clocked yet) and then installed Vista Ultimate. Installed all of the drivers no problems and activated. Made a backup of it since then (so I don't have to continually install it - 8 minutes and my o/s is backup in case I do something stupid).

Since then I've updated the BIOS on my motherboard, Graphics Card Drivers, Sound Card Drivers, Motherboard Drivers and LAN drivers and still no re-activation.

The only minor problems I've had is that Crysis can stop for a few moments but from everything else I've chucked on there this is definately a Crysis issue rather than anything Vista is doing.

As others have stated, since you have a legit copy, is it not legal for you to download an illegal copy (same version as your own) and use that, as long as your original product key is not used else where?

Hey cerialkilla, I think the same applies for the thousands of other companies out there. :)
Yes, the same applies for other companies but it's the attitude of Microsoft that what bothered people, they aren't interested in fixing some flaws in their products, even xbox 360.

The biggest bug-bear I have with MS at the Moment, is their attitude.

I mean, one big issue I have with them, is that they release an update...

The update is buggy and has issues that can and does cause data loss, or failures in some way.
Do they withdraw the update?
No, they wait until they fix another update to fix the buggy update.

This has happened a few times now.

In fact, the actual size of the updates is only really 3K but the fixes that fix the previous fixes has pushed it way over that now. My own No2 Pc that I reinstalled XP onto last week, wanted over 200MB of updates FFS!!!???

This is only one gripe with MS and their attitude.

Another is how they have a history of spreading quite obvious lies about any competition, they openly and blatantly lie about this or that and the general public are so stupid, they believe it all... Whats worse, is that those who know its a lie just ignore it... DONT WE?

Whats one of the more recent ones... Vista disabled networks when it finds Linux on the same network? - WTF? - No wonder Sweeden hate MicroSoft so much, and no wonder china have very nearly got rid of Windows altogether, and no wonder so much of europe and the middle east is moving over to linux over windows.

It does make me laugh when I hear about how much Windows has the market share, and yet, when I go to other countries ( and I dont man to boast, but I have been to hundreds of countries some you've never heard of ) and all of them use Linux more than Windows.

God I hate Windows and the only reason I am still using Windows is for the games... No other reason, and thats gettign less and less of a valid reason because so many games can be made to work under Linux these days.
