How do you install modern warfare 2 from DVD?

As title, really. Bought the game in the shops about an hour ago, take it home. Click install, it starts loading Steam and tries to download the damn thing! With the servers on overload, I'd rather use the DVD. Am I doing something wrong?

I just took the disc out and put it in again and hit reinstall. Its working from the disc now
