How do you keep space for hard drives?

I've noticed in setups where people are using two rads in the top and front of a case, they leave no room for hard drives.

I have a H440 and plan to use a 360 rad at the top and a 240 in the front, but I don't know where I could place my two internal hard drives. So I've looked at other mid tower cases such as the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX but that might also struggle to fit everything in. I definitely want to stick to a mid tower case though.

I have a 1TB SSD but need way more space for everything else. Game libraries alone can take a couple of terabytes for example.

Are you guys just using external hard drives or what?
 
With a rad in the front with just push you can still keep the HDD bays in there! I have done so with mine.

Velco would be fine, i've never seen one fall!

I just took it for granted the hard drive bays would all have to go. Thanks. :D

I might change cases too once I do get around to watercooling... the Enthoo Evolv ATX looks amazing.

I've actually redriled the holes and I've got a 280 up front so you should be fine with a 240 :)

I just use external enclosure's for my 3.5" mechanical drives these days, which are just used for backup and mass storage. The only drives inside my case are SSD's and they're super easy to tuck away with sooo many ways to hide them. Cable tie's, velco, electrical tape, etc... to mount them wherever they'll fit.
 
You can mount a single 3.5" drive to the bottom of the case regardless of installed radiators. I have a 2TB there and 2x256GB SSDs which covers my storage needs. Obviously you could put a 6TB HDD down there and 2x2TB SSDs in the front.

3 SSD's in a Phanteks Primo case (You get 3 SSD mounting points)

I have used in the pass the 5.25 adaptor to put things in a bay out of the way, that also works well.

I hate all them HDD bays, they block so much air.
 
Heavy duty velcro would do the job even with mechanical drives. I don't use it in my system but I do have the power brick for my tv in bedroom stuck to wall using this and it is at least as heavy, if not heavier than a mechanical drive!
 
choose the right case to begin with, thats why I went for a caselabs one because even though it is expensive and doesn't look very good it is designed very well in that the hard drives go on the cable management side so it does not interfere with radiator or pump mounting locations

The most common way to do it though is to put them into the DVD bay by using an adapter ( these can also reduce vibration / sound ), this will sometimes limit your front radiator size though
 
I used thick double sided foam tape to attach my HDD to the back of the motherboard tray. I don't hear it spooling up or any other noises from it compared to when I had it in my 780Ts HDD bays
 
I bolted my HDD in the back of my case to a plate I made to fit onto the mobo tray as I only need one and 4TB is plenty for games. I have a 5TB for external stuff.
