How do you keep your RIG nice and clean :)

A good blast of compressed air/ good strong hoover every other week + cleaning fan filters. Every other month I take the mobo out to get into all the corners if the build up is bad.

A little dust that isn't easily noticeable at a glance is fine but when it gets beyond that, like when temps start to rise, I'll take further action. As said, a blast of air is a good, quick fix; a fine brush can also be of value in those hard to reach areas.

About a week ago I took apart the whole PC, which I've never done properly before, and cleaned virtually everything. Certainly runs quieter now. :)

This really, all I can add is that i also use a 1" paintbrush to get into the corners and tight areas.

I use a soft paintbrush and one of these:

Is using a hoover inside a PC a good idea? I would have thought there was a potential for static electricity to build up on the nozzle?

As long as u keep it away from components, i use a hoover with a brush attachment but i just hold it in the case ans then use canned air and it sucks the dust out rather than just moving the dust in the case to another location.

I see; sort of like at the dentist! :)

My only rig is my laptop since I sold my PC. Took it apart today for the first time, very easy to take apart luckily. Was dusty as anything though, no wonder Bad Company 2 was heating it up! But it's all shiny and clean inside now and BC2 is running nicely without melting my legs :p

Paint brushes and compressed air. Cleaned out a psu yesterday that my brother had in an old rig, (enermax 650w), it was absolutely filthy, i didnt want to take it apart so simply removed the fan grill and went to work with the air can and a fine tipped brush, there were blobs of dust that looked like furballs.:D

Mine has a small amount of dust in it, but you can really see the great air flow with the few places the dust sits...

Should probably take the CPU heatsink out and clean it, but frankly it was a pain to get the bracket working properly... But generally a rough blow down with a good burst of air from your lungs, and dust off the dust filters and it's pretty good.

If it looked really bad, I'd take out the mobo and do a complete redo

For the cpu cooler, i give it a wash with the shower on power setting, then let it dry in the airing cupboard overnight. Quicker than brushing or air, and really cleans between the fins.
