How do YOU make a cup of tea??

Im a lazy sod so its always in the cup for me.
Step 1. Fill kettle just enough for how many cups i am making for min boiling time
Step 2. Bag and sugars in the cup
step 3. Hot water in and leave for a good brew
step 4. Remove bag with a spoon
step 5. Good dash of milk an stir it all up

Without even thinking about i do this but when i go to someone elses house they all have their own routine- so come on OCUK show us some routines.
Also good to post is favourite mugs/why?, which tea bag you use etc etc.....

mines basically the same but i leave the teabag in as i drink it .

Step 1. Fill kettle just enough for how many cups i am making for min boiling time
Step 2. Bag in the mug
step 3. Hot water in and squeeze tea bag with spoon
step 4. Remove bag with a spoon
step 5. Add two level sugars
step 6. Good dash of milk an stir it all up

1. Boil water in kettle.
2. Put a couple of teaspoons of tea in the teapot - I prefer English Breakfast Tea
3. Pour boiling water into teapot.
4. Leave for a couple of minutes
5. Pour milk into cup
6. Pour tea into cup

Voila!

1, Empty the kettle and put new water in.
2, Put bag in cup.
3, Add water as soon as kettle boils and allow it to brew.
4, Add little bit of milk and it’s done.
5, Leave bag in depending on how I feel

My method:

  • Fill kettle with twice the amount of water I need.
  • Put the tea bag in, followed by sugar.
  • Pour boiling water into cup, 4/5 full.
  • Gently stir all contents, leave it to spin a little, then press spoon against tea bag and the side of the cup.
  • Lift tea bag out, deposit into the bin.
  • While doing the previous, that gave the squeezed juices enough time to mix naturally.
  • One last quick and nasty stir. 5 seconds to relax, then drink.

It's actually been one year since I made a cup of tea, so I can't quite remember what brand I used. I know they're in a red box...

An experiment conducted by Twinings re adding milk concluded that adding the milk after you poured in the tea scalded the milk as it hit the boiling tea whereas putting the milk in first did not & it alters the taste quite a lot. I tried both & you can definately tell which is which. The Tibetan /Indian / Chinese way is to throw the leaves into the boiling water which again alters the taste accordingly

1.) Fill the kettle to the brim.
2.) Boil.
3.) Forget about it, come back 30 mins later and boil it all again.
4.) Get out mug
5.) Place teabag in mug.
6.) Boil the kettle again.
7.) Lift full kettle and precariously fill the cup with some hot water.
8.) Pour 2 litres of unused hot water down the sink.
9.) Add milk.
10.) Get out spoon and stir
11.) Add sugar using hot wet spoon. Ruin sugar bowl.
12.) Stir.
13.) Forget about it for an hour.
14.) Microwave it.
15.) Start to drink, tastes like crap, pour down sink. Repeat from 1.)

Fill cup with cold water.
Heat in microwave for 2 minutes.
Add teabag and stir.
Add sugar and stir.
Add milk and stir some more.
Remove teabag.
Drink away.

1. fill kettle with fresh water
2. put milk and teabag in cup
3. fill to the top with the hot water
4. leave for a couple of minutes to infuse
5. take out teabag and put in sugar

it's different to how most people make it but i've never had any complaints so far:p

No wonder the planet is in a state with a carbon footprint that big! :p

Anyway, everyone knows its milk before water...
