I'm currently having a debate (not an argument) with the wife about who makes the best porridge!
She 'cheats' and sticks the oats, sugar and milk into a pyrex bowl and stuffed it in the microwave Stirring occasionally. Making what I describe as "Sloppy Milky Oats"
Me.. I do mine how I was tought by my Scottish Great Aunt, okay I put Sugar in rather than salt! but its done in the traditional way, Oats, Sugar and Milk in a pan on the stove and stand there stirring it constantly whilst it thickens, stopping it burning to the pan (my wife's main bugbear as I've done that a few times!) My Porridge is thick enough to stand a spoon in and (as my Dad used to say) "it sticks too your ribs!"
So my question is this...
Do you slop the ingredients into a bowl in the microwave?
Stir the ingredients in a pan the traditional way?
Or God forbid, open a packet off 'Ready-Break' etc and follow the distructions??
