My subscription with my host will be running out soon and I will be moving all the files over to another host.

One problem I have is that it's a bit messy and it could do with sorting out.

So I wanted to know how you manage your online files. Do you keep all media on the same host? Do you keep images separate and hosted on another site like flickr?

It annoying because I have used multiple ways to sort stuff out. I have used wordpress to upload images blog related. I then have flickr/deviant art from photos and design and then I have a folder on my host where I just chuck random images in. Sorting it all out is going to create a lot of dead links on sites linking to the files.

Thoughts?

have a look at pownce.

I use flickr for photos, youtube for videos, sendspace for whimsical things I want to share, and my hosting for anything else. If it's something large that I want to share, I'll do it on a public bittorrent tracker. Anything else gets bunged in the aptly named 'files' folder on my hosting.

I have different folders for different things. So I have a folder for images, one for videos. And a folder for files which I know I wont host for long, mainley work related things for friends.

Your best off creating different folders for the different kinds on media you will keep on your web space. And then sub folders in your main folders for different things. For example a sub folder for your sigs to use on forums.
