How do you mouse?

What kind of mouser are you, index over LMB and wheel and middle finger over RMB or all 3 fingers covering each?

Recently adopted the 3 finger way and actually, it's working great on both XM2we and MX Master 3S I think, this also allows thumb and piny to grip each side of the mouse better too I'm finding!

I think how light the mouse is also massively helps with the 3 finger method, moving the mouse around with just pinky and thumb is a lot more agile when the mouse is sub 50g, for example. I have the XM2we which is 63g and that is light compared to other mice, yet is still noticeably heavier to move than the Turtle Beach at 46g.

On the MX Master 3, that thing is 141g but because it's so massive, the entire palm and fingers end up moving that around regardless of how I grip.

The latter would purely depend on two factors, how strong your grip is with pinky and thumb, and how your mouse is shaped and weighted. I have am MX Master 3S which is 140g measured, I would not find that doing the 3 finger method comfortable or feasible!

But the 43g and 69g gaming mice i have would be no problem at all as they are narrower, lighter and twist flick movements are super easy as a result.

It's the muscle memory kicking it, have to improvise, adapt, overcome for the 3 finger approach

My Pulsar X2 CrazyLight has had a good run and whilst it's still basically like-new, I want a new mouse that has a different hump so my palm can rest on it better as the X2 CL is size 1 mini, suitable more for fingertip and claw grip styles.

I'm looking at the Viper 4 Pro as it's got the material finish I really like from my V3 DeathAdder, just the V4 supports the web software which I much prefer than the terrible Synapse desktop software.

I did think about the CL Medium but then again I fancied trying something new and the V4 Pro seems to tick the right boxes! It is arriving tomorrow so will see what it's like

Did consider the new Superstrike but it's 60g and front heavy which to me doesn't seem like something I would like, even if the haptics are cool, but will see if the V4 Pro doesn't feel nice then I will return it and maybe check out the new Superstrike.

I also like the V4's little receiver showing colour indicators for signal quality, battery life, polling rate etc at a glance. That is something the other mice I have had or seen don't have.

I don't gaming mouse for online FPS I just like a lightweight mouse I can fling about I'm single player games that has a nice shape for th style of grip I currently have!

Well the V4 Pro did not arrive yesterday, The 'zon said it apologises for the delay and it will in fact be coming today..............................................

Looks liek it originally shipped from Belgium, so I suspect that's where the delay has been!


Edit* I've decided to cancel the V4 Pro order purely based on this experience, I can't be bothered, but also because I came across the ATK ZERO series and really like the look and overall package of the Extreme+, it's got higher specs and lower latency (not that this would be noticed anyway but still...), and it's a lot cheaper than the V4 Pro:

There is more customisation in the ATK web software too it seems.

Yeah it comes with loads of stuff

Amazon told me in livechat that the Viper 4 Pro missed its delivery window now and they will just refund me, but if the mouse does turn up then to just keep it or do whatever.

So here's hoping I get a free Viper 4 Pro I can eBay

Weighing in at 48grams with the installed big skates, should be a few grams lighter if I install the dots.

Material is excellent, premium feeling, 50/50 weight balance front to back, wheel feels nice, buttons nice and clicky, nicer feeling than Pulsar opticals, 8K nano dongle is convenient but I use the main dongle as it has customisable lighting for battery indication etc.

Remarkable package and web software and performance for the money.
