Hi guys, I'm new to computers and have no idea at all about overclocking. Culd someone tell me about some of the basics? I'm getting the i5 2500k, so I would like to know how to overclock it. I know you do it through the BIOS, but there are apparently a number of settings you can change, what are these, and which ones should be tweaked and why/how? As i said i'm a complete noobd and have no idea, but I'm really interested! Thanks!

theres a guide in the overclocking and cooling subforum, its not for i5 2500k but the basics are the same, have a read of that, it will give you more of an idea, if you still have questions post back after

Have you considered getting a pre-overclocked bundle from OCUK. It takes all the hassle out of it, saves you frying your expensive toys through inexperience. You pay a small premium, but it's worth it for the years warranty and the hassle free overclock :)
