How do you play your games?

Seems a simple enough question.

Personally I used to jump back and fourth between games and it resulted in me completling very few as I was always too distracted. Now, I have given myself the challenge of playing a game through until the end before moving onto the next one (unless it turns out to be utter crap).

Currently Skyrim (although I have been testing my recent purchases from the sales)

What about you?

I normally end up having "too many games syndrome" where I have loads but don't seem to play any of them that much.

It's definitely a better idea to slow up on buying games and just finish what you've got before getting more!

I'm also a remember of the "too many games" club. I need to try and focus on one or two games at a time: different genres really. Currently playing Skyrim, and I will probably try and play through an FPS for now also.

Think it will be better for me to start finishing games finally! Only completed about 4 this year I think!

Playing BF3 MP until I get bored of it. Then will play the 25 or so Indie games I've accumalated through bundles and sales before buying anything, playing them 1 at a time.

I used to have a fairly blitz mentality when it came to games. Time constraints and other commitments now make this impossible, which tbh is a good thing, used to miss a lot of the detail during my rapid play throughs.

I try to keep just a few games 'open' at once, or I end up in a place where I don't know where I am, how I got there etc. Obviously this depends on the type of game. An RPG game such as FF13 or Mass Effect should only be played one at a time imo due to me not remembering the stories.

I like to blitz games that I feel are worth playing through once without bothering with unlocks. For example Saints Row 3 - A good game but not immense. Blast it through once. Enjoy it. Forget about it.

I found gaming was royally ruined when I had a chipped PS2 as I had far too many games and barely played any of them.

this is crazy. Cause i pick up used and 2nd hand games and play my games 1 year + out of date I have about 20-40 games I can play right now...well 10-15 released within last 6 months.,

When I was younger I had a chipped ps1/2 and got 5 new games every week.

I notice I enjoy games more the less I have.

Like right now I change games every day i dotn enjoy them as much.

However, I also have online fifa and bf3 plus others which take up a lot of my time.

When I was a kid mayeb Id only have 1-3 new games every 6 months. 1-2 b-day 1-2 xmas..thats it.

Id get a game and keep playing and replay it for months lmao..

To think now its insane.

I normally have one main game on the go with another 2 or 3 from a completely different genre when I need a break from the main one.

Been busy this month in the sales :o

I find that I buy games that are popular just because everyone else is getting it. Which is a bad thing if you hang out on the 'Steam Autumn Sale' thread. Iv'e spent £50 in the past 3 days and will no doubt spend another £50 by the end of it. On the good side is the fact that I will have enough games to see me through til the next big sale...Oh hang on..that's Christmas right? ****!

OK, after Christmas I will have enough games....(ok you get the point).

Steam is far too easy to get more games than you can play and i suffer from this! Around 30 games not downloaded, another 30 on top i have started and not finished.

After buying MW3 and BF3 2 weeks later and I want Skyrim, Batman and anno 2070.

But I have made a new rule... I have to complete at least 2 old games before I can buy a new one. So now I have to finish Prince of Persia Warrior Within and the Witcher 2 before I can buy one of the 3 i mentioned.

However there is 1 caveat I am allowed to buy games from steam sales if it is a game i really want and it is cheap enough. I have managed to buy no games on the current sale sofar so I am still quite strict.

The problem i have is i spend so much time playing games that cant be completed, MW3 BF3 online and CivV being the biggest culprits.

ha funny you typed that same time as me I guess but posted 2-3mins faster.

When I had chipped ps1/ps2 I had so many games I really didnt care.

I recall before then I coudltn afford games and the only games I had were.

FF7
Pro evo soccer
then I got MGS1

So I think for the whole year of 1997? all I played was pro evo soccer, most days, ff7 for like 6 months to kill all big bosses etc...and MGS1 I completed in 2 days lol.

but those 3 games kept me pretty happy

I will list some of games I am ''playing'' atm.

AC brotherhood
mafia 2
infamous blood expansion
Red dead zombie expansion
killzone 3
Oddsey enslaved
Just cause 2
crysis 2
red faction armageddon
withcer 2
GRAW2
football manager

plus I also wanna buy

I have many more games semi or unplayed.

I also have games I can play online all the time

COD
bf
l4d
tf2
fifa
kz3

just to name a few

I will usually play through an entire campaign without playing another game, unless the campaign isn't interesting. Rarely do I not complete a campaign. Multiplayer depends, just whatever I'm in the mood to play.
