How do you post an image directly in a thread?!

Hi guys,

I want to start a new for sale thread in the MM but it'd be super useful if I could just insert an image directly to the thread (I've seen others do this on here but haven't managed to work it out yet?!).

I can see the 'Image' button at top here but when you click on it it gives you an URL which I paste say form IMGUR...nothing happens though!!!

Upload to a site like imgur - it will then give you "share links" - copy the "BBCode (Forums)" link and paste that into your post - don't need to use the image button.

I have to admit that some of the ways on here to add a picture baffle me - I use Picturetrail which came with BT/Yahoo years ago and have used it ever since - All I do is load a picture to Picturetrail and then it gives me option to go to Image URL

Click the picture you want then click on forums link- All I have to do is right click link and copy then on forum right click and paste and there it is - still not got my head around tags and images - I am sure I must be going the long way round but because I am used to it - it doesn't take long to do.

Last few times I tried adding a pic whenever I put the image code in the picture wouldn’t appear :confused:

never had that problem in the past on here using the same method so what could it be?

Upload image to imgur, wait 5 seconds, right click on image, "copy image url" and paste that in to the image box.

Create an imgur account, upload the photo of your choice.

Go to your image page and select the image you want to upload:

Grab the direct link:

Select the image button on the forum:

Paste and insert:

All done

I've been unable to post photos on the forum like before since the forum changed, it just doesn't work.

Been meaning to sort it outwithout using a different browser than firefox.

bbcode nor image tags work *shrug*

wait, wtf, now it works. eh?

@_tucker_ You can't use an img link to post to a gallery of pictures.

I have no idea how this works on imgur, I copied the url and posted it but still won’t show the picture?? I’m trying to use the app on the iPhone mabe that’s why

You need the full path with the .jpg (or whatever file type you're using) at the end:

Could you imagine the space required in order to do that though? Easier for other services to host.

Photo's posted here could be auto deleted after a set time, I sometimes use Tinypic but notice the photo's will also suddenly disappear from there

Hold down on the image until you get a menu popup, you want 'copy post link'.

^^ Picturetrail appears to be working flawlessly
