As subject really. I have an Epson printer (USB) which is connected via a PrintServer. Some troubleshooting facts I have discovered.
1) WheneverI turn my computer on, the printer is "Offline" and it doesn't print
2) HOWEVER I can ping the print server fine, and if I log into the print servers HTTP interface I can send a test print fine.
3) Therefore from points 1 and 2 you can see the print server is fine even though my computer isn't printing. If I right click the printer in XP and choose "Use printer online" hey presto - the printer works.
Therefore in short, the printer does work - it's just XP putting it in offline mode all the time - as soon as i click the printer to put it into online mode it works. Anyway I can prevent XP from shifting the printer into offline mode?
