I bought a printer off e-bay and the seller decided to use expanding foam as part of its packaging. I know not the greatest idea in the world. The foam got to a corner of the printer and made a mess. I managed to remove most of it but these is still the residue on the plastic of the printer. Any ideas what can remove it without harming the plastic?

May I be the first to say.....

Mustard

or

Fire

for the win!!!!!

other than those some sort of nail varnish remover (acetone) may do the job

Not too bad an idea tbh... if its done properly :p , I've seen equipment packaaged by the manufacterers in a similar way, a bag is filled with a varient on the foam, the air is removed, the bag is sealed, its placed in a box, the equipment is placed in the middle, and another back of foam is placed on top, and its pushed down an the box is closed. Obviously like in the OP's message, if it gets out.. you end up with a bit of a sticky mess :o

if he did thats the most stupid idea ever! haha.

i used to use an expanding foam where i used to work, but i cant remember for the life of me what its called!

came with a big reel of grey film that you put in the box sprayed the foam in, folded over and then mashed whatever you were packing into it!

i got some on a nice shirt that i wore once and its never come out :(
