how do you set something up to be downloaded

Hi folks, im currently uploading a video i made to my server, and my friend wants to download it when its uploaded.

will he just need to type in the url on the website with the file name on the end?

Yeah, although it'll probably play in his browser depending on his setup. You could stick an html page with a link to the file and then he can right click--> save target as.

Or if all else fails he can Google the URL and right click -> save as from there
